Mission

Every day, our fragile world seems smaller and more interconnected, and groups which might once have imagined they could live peacefully in ignorance of each other are thrust together.

We must learn how to understand each other in order to live in harmony and fellowship. This site was undertaken as one response to the need for reconciliation and understanding over violence, as the principle (and only sustainable) means of resolving our differences.

Just saying ‘go in peace’ doesn’t cut it…

“What use is it, people, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,  and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.” –Jesus [James 2:14-17]

Seeking partners

no, we are not seeking funds…

UQ-media isn’t our full-time project, and we need partners whose entire attention is geared towards peace and social harmony, because we’ve built the resource and we want to make it the best it can be, for maximum effect but frankly we’re slammed for time.

If your compassion-raising, peace seeking, 501c.3 bearing nonprofit is interested in partnering with us on this site, please use our contact page to get in touch.   A match made in heaven will recognize that all of the images and text on this site is harmonious and positive, and will likely be using same (rather than choosing images of war and hate to make a point) on their own.

Pace e bene,

Peace and Prosperity [Micah 4:1-4]

In the future, the mountain with the LORD’s temple will be the highest of all. It will reach above the hills, and every nation will rush to it.

2
People of many nations will come and say, “Let’s go up to the mountain of the LORD God of Jacob and worship in God’s temple.” The LORD will teach us the Law from Jerusalem, and we will obey.

3
God will settle arguments between distant and powerful nations. They will pound their swords and their spears into rakes and shovels*; they will never again make war or attack one another.

4
Everyone will find rest beneath their own fig trees or grape vines, and they will live in peace. This is a solemn promise of the LORD All-Powerful.

The Contribution to Peace

The Rosicrucians value tolerance and peace and celebrate a Rosicrucian Day of Peace worldwide annually on the fourth Sunday of June. These ideas for contributing to peace are printed and given out free at their Egyptian Museum and Peace Garden in San Jose:

  • I contribute to Peace when I strive to express the best of myself in my contacts with others.
  • I contribute to Peace when I use my intelligence and my abilities to serve the Good.
  • I contribute to Peace when I feel compassion toward all those who suffer.
  • I contribute to Peace when I look upon all men and women as my brothers and sisters, regardless of race, culture, or religion.
  • I contribute to Peace when I rejoice over the happiness of others and pray for their well-being.
  • I contribute to Peace when I listen with tolerance to opinions that differ from mine or even oppose them.
  • I contribute to Peace when I resort to dialogue rather than to force to settle any conflict.
  • I contribute to Peace when I respect Nature and preserve it for generations to come.
  • I contribute to Peace when I do not seek to impose my conception of God upon others.
  • I contribute to Peace when I make Peace the foundation of my ideals and philosophy.

Supporting Women in the World

According to an article in the NYTimes,  ”more girls and women are now missing from the planet, precisely because they are female, than men were killed on the battlefield in all the wars of the 20th century.”   Taking a stand against ‘routine gendercide’ (which outnumers all the genocides of the 20th century combined) and the other abuses and immoralities involves knowing some hard truths, and standing up as a witness.  On this issue, a person of good conscience cannot remain neutral.  Recall the words of Bishop Desmond Tutu “If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality” and we owe it to both oppressed and oppressor to do what we can to work for restoration, hope and understanding.
