Center for Non Harming Ministries – Help for a Hurting World
This healing site sees the role of ministry as a healing role, and takes its inspiration from the physician’s Hippocratic Oath, widely summarized as ‘first, do no harm.’ Site really invites ministers to step back from the rush to action, because the first and greatest misconception is that, as a minister, one might immediately know what is best in any given situation. This site is a resource for any in ministry of any faith tradition who is dedicated to lifting people up. The site has its official launch date of December 24, 2009 and offers a growing variety of resources including:
•Non-harming pledge -based on the Hippocratic oath- for spiritual counselors (ministers, priests, etcetera) of every faith tradition who may wish to take an affirmative non harming position
•A growing directory of resources throughout the USA, and worldwide, ecumenical efforts, pluralism efforts, non harming and outreach efforts, women and minorities in ministry, and those looking for a safe place to worship in peace and grow in relationship to God
•A fresh and ecumenical approach, and a rediscovery of a Celtic way of thinking
•Historical background, helpful hints and common misconceptions, and links to resources for those who have an interest in these areas
